The Golden Gate Highlands National Park is one of the natural wonders of Africa that is Located in Free State in the Republic of South Africa that is near the Lesotho border. The area of the park is about 340 square kilometers or 131.3 square miles. Golden Gate is known for its golden like, ocher and orange colored sandstone cliffs. The most popular is the Brandwag rock that serves as the vigilante on the rest of the park.

The Golden Gates Highlands National Park provides a unique environment and a true highland habitat that provides home to several mammals like eland, oribi, springbok, Burchell’s zebra and black wildebeest. Ribbokkop is the highest point of the park that reveals an astonishing view of red yellow and purple hues in the night that comes in warm shades and beautiful scenery to look at.

Numbers of various discoveries can be also found in the park including dinosaur skeleton and dinosaur eggs.
